SURG-I-BAND®
The Original Color Coding System
In 1961, Dennis R. Scanlan, Jr. invented the Surg-I-Band® Color Coding System. Scanlan was the first company to introduce color coding as a fast, easy, and safe way to identify surgical instruments. Since then, the Surg-I-Band® color coding system has grown to include spools, dispensers, removers, a carousel, pre-cut sheet labels and our new addition of 40 designs on spools.
Surg-I-Band® color coding is used throughout the world by thousands of hospitals and surgery centers. Sterile processing and operating room personnel count on and rely on the quality Surg-I-Band® offers when looking for a solution to instrument color coding and tracking.
