 UPDATE

Dear Scanlan International,

I have waited a very long time to show my appreciation for the scholarship that assisted with my education. I received the Dennis R. Scanlan, Jr. Memorial Scholarship in 1997 when returning to school to achieve my Master’s Degree in Nursing.

I obtained my RN, BSN from Indiana University in 1989 and began my surgical nursing career in Orthopedics at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

I started my MSN at Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY while living in southern Indiana and applied for a scholarship through AORN. I am honored that I was selected for the Dennis R. Scanlan, Jr. Memorial Scholarship in 1997 and applied the funds to completing my MSN degree.

In 1998, I relocated to Arizona and started my career as the Orthopedic Team Leader in Surgical Services when Mayo Clinic opened a new hospital. During the 5 years as Orthopedic Team Leader in Surgical Services I received the honor of “International Who’s Who of Professional Management” in 2002. In 2004 I was hired into Supply Chain Management as the first Value Analysis RN in Arizona which lead to the development of a specific Supply Chain – Surgical Services position. I currently lead Clinical Support Services… all designed to meet the end-to-end supply chain (and patient billing) needs for Surgical Services. Having a surgical nurse as the leader for supply chain and billing activities assists as a subject matter expert for contract negotiations, product conversions business analytics.

I am currently the Nurse Manager for Clinical Support Services – Surgical Services at Mayo Clinic, Arizona where I have worked for the past 15 years.

Thanks again,

I appreciate the nursing scholarship that Scanlan, Intl. Thanks for all you do to support nursing.

Sincerely,

Donada Reimer
