Dr. Mahlet Tesfaye is a Thoracic surgeon from Ethiopia. She completed her training in General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. She serves as a consultant at Black lion Hospital, Addis Ababa University.

Dr. Mahlet Tesfaye will undertake her mentorship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, UNC, and University of Washington with the AATS mentors being Drs. Valerie Rusch, Gita Mody, James Maloney, and Douglas Wood.
