Originally from North Carolina, Dr. Miller completed her dual undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her M.D. from Wake Forest School of Medicine. She performed her research during her general surgery residency at the University of Florida. Her research primarily focused on the correlation between the period of prolonged stress after a traumatic event and erythropoietic dysfunction as part of Dr. Alicia Mohr’s basic science and translational research lab. Dr. Miller was supported in her research by an Institutional National Research Service Award from the National Institute of General Medicine Sciences.
