Anees is a Professor in the Department of Surgery at Yale University School of Medicine. She is a busy breast surgeon who participates in clinical trials, as well as translational and clinical research, is the Breast Surgery Section editor for UpToDate, the Assistant Director for the START@Yale Program, and co-leads the Yale Global Surgery Faculty Network. She has published over 170 papers, including in the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine. In addition, she is passionate about leadership development and promoting equity.

Her paper titled, “The Impact of a Virtual Negotiation Training Course on Female Trainees” received the 2022 Scanlan Family – AWS AJS Best Paper Award.
